A New England native, Michelle Montes-Capton was born and raised in Connecticut. She completed studies at Parsons School of Design in New York City, majoring in Fashion Design. Early in her career, she brought her creative talents abroad, co-founding a boutique in Helsinki, Finland. Upon returning to the U.S., she transitioned into costume design for musical theater, where her background in couture fashion, textiles, and costume history translated beautifully to the stage.

As founder and principal designer of Mood Interiors, Michelle has cultivated a trusted, full-service design firm known for creating highly personalized, livable interiors with a refined aesthetic. With over two decades of experience, her business has grown organically through long-standing client relationships, word-of-mouth referrals, and repeat engagements.
